Photo of relaxing down by the River at Dodge Bridge in Southern Oregon
Because we have a couple of Zoom meetings every Wednesday morning, I decided recently that I could get out in nature every week and listen in to these calls from ANYWHERE. Ah, the joy of working from home.
I’m playing tourist in my local area and living up the relaxed life. Relaxing can be hard work, did you know? We can have the feeling that we always need to be accomplishing something and pursuing something or checking things off our list.
So, I made this a non-negotiable. Getting outside, spending time with running water, and trees, and birdsong, and flowers is healing and replenishing. I share images of my adventures on Instagram. I’m excited to see if any of my team will join me and we can tag one another with our adventures. Working remotely while having community means we can inspire one another to do the things that bring balance and harmony.
Narnia Night
For the last several years, I’ve been reading to a group at the Assisted Living in my town. We started with the Chronicles of Narnia and have moved on to other stories. We’re in the Mitford Series now. I still call it Narnia Night, and the alarm that goes off to get ready to go pops up on my phone as “Leave for Narnia.” Something about that always warms my heart.
Narnia was my first exposure to the world of spirit and magic and all the adventure that creativity and imagination can give us. I see glimpses in the natural world that seem very Narnian and mystical - like a break in the trees that opens to a wooded glen - that reminds me of a place where fawns and satyrs might dance in the moonlight.
I look forward to spending time with my reading circle as much or more than than they enjoy having me there. It is truly a highlight of my week!

Me and Robin - out by the creek in her back yard
We’re encouraged to get a Running Buddy in this business - someone going the same direction with the same motivation. Robin and I meet weekly and send each other messages throughout the day to encourage and motivate one another.
We are both learning so much right now and it’s wonderful to have someone right here in my own little neck of the woods of Southern Oregon. The entrepreneurial world can be daunting - but with the structure put in place by our Founders and Mentors, we can follow systems that are built for helping people become successful. And we have each other.
It’s amazing to me how quickly we became heart friends.
Wednesdays after Narnia - we either meet in person, or get on the phone and have a leisurely, lush and real conversation about where we are, what we’re struggling with or over the moon about. We laugh, we have AHA moments together, and we hold each other accountable for the activities we need to accomplish to build a solid foundation for our growing businesses.
Is it any wonder that Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week?
I hope you have a lovely day - and thank you for being here!
